Added LA Times article from 1989

 Thanks to Donovan for sending me this 1989 (January?) Los Angeles Times FF newspaper clipping.  I added it to the 'Articles' section today.

May 2022 Pickups

 Picked up a couple 'new' cards this month.  Nothing really special - just nice additions.

1)  Black Scribble w/ Loop with a super small saw-cut.  

2)  FF with a slight doubled red and blue ink on the knob.  

FF "Mystery Card" Lot uncovered!

I knew it would happen eventually.  Prior to this month, I'd only seen a couple dozen or so FF "Mystery" cards.  A few each year at best.  That all changed when a fellow FF collector was able to acquire about 1500 of these from one seller located NW of Philadelphia!  These all came from an Antique store and were brought in many years ago.  

1500 or so identical FF "Mystery" cards - all covered in plastic Saran wrap and placed in 800ct boxes.

As I've said before - these aren't your typical fake reprints.  Many of the card aspects are actually better than the original 1989 Fleer FF.  

The only information from this find that is worth noting is that these cards came from the Philadelphia area (think Fleer).  To me, that increases the possibility that these originated at Fleer.  Who knows?  The hunt for info continues......

New Trade Acquisitions in 2022!

 Recently traded w/ Brian G. for these two beauties.

1)  FF card with a neat doubled ink front.   The entire front!

2)  FF card with a 'crimped' right edge.  Card was pulled from a rack pack and sealed with the packaging.

FF Auto Pickups!

Thanks to Joey R. for these (and other pickups earlier this month).  Nice additions to the collection.  Plenty of new card/auto combinations I didn't have and a few oddballs as well.

FF Related - 1988 Lineup card

 Courtesy of Bill H.  (Instagram - Cal_lected).  An official lineup card from the June 25th, 1988 Orioles game vs Boston.  The weekend series vs the Red Sox where the FF picture was taken by photographer Steve Babineau.  Signed by manager Frank Robinson!  It was Cal Ripken Jr's milestone 1000th consecutive game!  He also hit a 1st inning HR.  Billy was 0-3.

Included my recent pickup of a ticket from that game.
