Features the Japanese superhero Suguru Kinniku from the Kinnikuman series with the title of "Pig Face".  Excellent detail - front and back!

FF Saw-cut with red print roller marks?

Recent pickup.  F-Face version with factory saw-cut.  I noticed the red print on it and was hoping for a red ink overprint from another card.  Instead, it appears to be roller marks running across the front.  Printer marks?  Slitter machine marks?  No idea.

FF Sawcut Pickup

New pickup for 2024!  FF error version with factory saw-cut/slit.  What makes this one different is the cut itself.  Looks to be a double (side-by-side) cut touching the left side of the bat knob.  

Custom Bobblehead from Patrick's Custom Painting

I like the look of vintage bobbleheads and thought it would be neat to have a FF example.  I picked up a cheap 80s plastic nodder for about $10 and sent it off to be customized.  Patrick's Custom Painting did it once again!  Love the work - and the detailed bat knob.

Just arrived from California!  Beautiful, custom card art by Ian Mckesson.  My scanner doesn't do this card justice!  The colors are perfect!  The shine is amazing!  Pop Culture at it's best.  I had to send in the original FF - not a Black Box, not a reprint.

Incredible pieces of art by Topps / GPK artist David Gross.  Rough drawing and the final painting (white heavy water color paper and painted in gouache) - both signed and dated by Dave.  Also a 2023/24 MLB GPK card of the artist himself.  These are beautiful!

1989 Fleer Checklist w/ Positions

Thanks to Kevin W. for giving me this new 'FF related' card at the National show in Cleveland.  1989 Fleer checklist card with player positions listed on the front.  VERY Rare!  This one has the Orioles team (w/ Billy Ripken) on the front.

Black Box oddball additions

Thanks to Ben N. for reaching out after finding these two Black Box oddball varieties.

1)  Black Box card with lighter Black Ink.  Overall poor registration on the front.

2)  Black Box with a bold print dot in the center of the bat knob.  Cheap fun!

2024 Topps Series 2 Jackson Holliday "Fun Face"

New from Topps Series Two!  Orioles rookie Jackson Holliday pays tribute to the original FF.  He poses with a #7 jersey and writes "Fun Face" on the knob of his bat.  Of course you can't produce a FF without many versions and variations...  So far, I've seen the FF, White Scribble, Whiteout, Black Scribble, Black Box, and a FF version with a saw-cut / slit down the middle.  

Great job by Jackson and Topps!  

 

FF Saw-Cut version with White Printing smudge?

Always nice to discover a recurring print defect.  Nearly 20 years ago, I picked up a FF saw-cut card that had an unusual white smudge on the front.  Not an attempt by Fleer to cover the knob of the bat - just a printing mistake.  Last month I was able to finally pickup another!  Similar white smudge in the same spot on the card and nearly identical factory slit.  I wonder how many of these are out there....

Not a true version - just a different, uncommon printing defect.

Black Box version with large print dot

$2 pickup.  Just a cheap Black Box corrected version with a print defect.  Larger than normal print dot on the upper letter N.  Something different.

Garbage Pail Kids creation by David Gross

New for 2024!  Artist David Gross has created a new Garbage Pail Kids style piece for the FF.  "Bill Pick'en" and his "Phlegm Face" bat knob.  Outstanding!  No way Topps would approve for their GPK series.  It'll remain a beautiful work of art by one of today's best comic artists.

Jersey Fusion 2023-24 Series

Nice to see the new Jersey ProFusion cards for 2023-24.  Included is the '89 Fleer Ripken!

The jersey used isn't from 1988 but close.  1991 Orioles team issued or game used #3 jersey.  Jersey Pro Fusion used the Black Box variation to create these individually numbered collectibles.  Plain Gray cuts of cloth are #'d to 50.  Patch or lettering examples are #'d to both 5 (for dual sided) and 10 (for one sided).   The #'d 1 of 1 in the group is the signed Rawlings jersey patch.  The Patch/Auto is a #4/5 (not 1/1 as advertised).  I guess it is a 1/1 as it's the only #/5 that was signed. 😳Wish they were FF cards instead.... 😒.

Notorious custom creations.  Odd but understandable to see the FF with this group of figures.....  Pop culture - who knew?  Killers, cult leaders, cannibals, dictators, and this guy... No comment beyond that.

 

Needle in a haystack! Found Circle Scribble.

Always fun to find a rare card in with the commons!  Every time I've found uncut (non-sawcut) Circle Scribble CS4s they have been bunched with the regular Black Box cards.  Groups of them - sold as a lot.  New Pickup for April!

The Pint of No Return!

New from The Pint of No Return (website).  Outstanding beer glass featuring the 'Streaking' Ripken brothers on each side.  Beavis and his consecutive games streak and Butt-head and his - FF.  As a bonus, an excellent '82 Topps Traded parody card was included.  These were numbered to 96 and sold out quickly.

'91 Winfield 'Mr Peanut' print defect?

Saw this and had to pick it up.  Oddball print defect on a 1991 Upper Deck Dave Winfield.  Something - maybe a drop of water - blocked the color process.  Just happened to hit his face in the right spot.

Rack Pack Pickup

2024 pickup of the year - so far.  Rack pack with Black Scribble / Loop or partial F on top - plus a couple HOFers!  Love seeing Griffey and Ripken on top - and facing the same direction!

New CS3 pickup

35th Anniversary of the FF is here!

From late 2023.  Picked up this nice Circle Scribble (CS3).  Saw-cut / Slit right through the middle of the bat knob.  Wax stains on the back - so I know it came from a pack.  Rare version!
