Early Christmas

A HUGE thanks to Andrew Daviduk!  I was able to acquire a few HUGE cards for my FF collection this week.  Here are the two highlights:
1) Ultra Rare uncut or non-sawcut Circle Scribble.  This is the #2 version or "CS2" out of the 4 Circle Scribble varieties.  Only one I've ever seen without the factory sawcut!  I now have all 4 CS card varieties in both sawcut and non-sawcut form.

2) Super cool print freak FF card.  This one has the popular Jose Canseco 40/40 card #628 partially printed on top.  Someone probably found this while diving into a dumpster outside the Fleer plant.  This card is beautiful and certainly unique.  Both the FF and the #628 were located on the bottom middle of their respective factory sheets making it easy to see how this 'error' was made.
Needless to say, Andy will be making some of his rare collection available soon.  Please contact him directly at unkkle@hotmail.com and visit his current eBay listings HERE

December Pickup

2 months in a row - adding a FF rack pack.  This one is special.  Being a Griffey fan, I've always dreamed of finding an unopened rack pack with both the Griffey Rookie and the FF showing on top.  Dream came true!  Beautiful example of the Griffey next to the FF and all 3 cards facing the same direction.  The FF is even the center card!  Probably my pickup of the year.

November Pickup

Picked up a new rack pack this month.  It has 2 error cards showing on top - both the FF and the Kevin Romine which was corrected later on.

1973 Kaline "Band-Aid" version

Ben N. brought this card to my attention.  I'd never seen it before.  1973 Topps Al Kaline.  This card had an early variation showing band-aids on Kaline's forehead.  I found this picture on Net54 showing potentially 3 versions - with the middle one being a airbrushed correction?  Tough variations to find!

New October additions

Added a couple new varieties to the personal collection.  First is a FF with what looks to be 3 color off sets.  Red, Blue, Yellow.  Not sure if I already have one with that much yellow showing.  Something different.  Second is a Scribble w/ Loop with a very short sawcut/slit at the bottom.

Louisville Slugger Musuem & Tour

Enjoyed a nice tour of the Louisville Slugger plant last week.  Well worth it!  They have a huge wall display of players that signed with LS.  I'm probably the one guy that looked for Billy.....

New Pickup for 2016

Picked up a Cello Pack with the Black Box showing on top.  (Rounded left edge and Jagged white line).  Cool, cheap fun.

Added 'Adult' card of Dick Felt

Big thanks to Eric G. for pointing out the 1963 Fleer card of 'Dick Felt'.  A must have for the 'Adult' section.

Added 3 new pieces to the 'Articles' section & updated some pictures

Big thanks to Kyle P. in Washington state.  He sent a few newspaper clippings that I have now added to the 'Articles' section.  1989 AP#2, 1989 SCD #2 and one from a 1989 Oregonian newspaper.

Also updated some 'Versions' pictures.  Saw-Cut pictures.

April Fools?

Ben N. made a nice pickup post online today.
"Bought this bat collection off Craigslist. Seller told me he got them at an estate sale in Baltimore."
LOL - well done!

Learning Animated GIF files

Played around with some online animated .GIF file creator sites.  I made some neat combination/overlay images of different FF versions.  Here is one of my favorites.  Black Scribble (basic 3 card versions).  Files tend to be somewhat large, however.  3-6 MB.  Let it completely load and watch the transformation from 'Scribble w/ F' to the 'Loop' version to the 'No F'.

Random FF thoughts?

I had to share this.  I was in a hotel this week and had one of my random FF sightings.  Of course, whenever I see the F word, I think of this card.  Other examples are seeing 6:16 on the alarm clock.  This one doesn't happen too often but when I see FACE in all caps - it happens.  :)
